The Challenge

LCI Aviation need to capture utilisation data for all their leased aircraft engines and airframes on a monthly basis and record it in their core operational leasing application. The existing solution was based on excel, which required a significant amount of manual data handling to populate excel sheets with up to date data from their core system for every aircraft every month. The excel files were emailed to aircraft operators, who added their latest aircraft data and returned the updated files via email. LCI in turn manually loaded the returned data into their core application. The process took considerable time and resource every month and was prone to errors due to the manual nature of the data collection. Additional reconciliation steps were required to ensure data accuracy consuming additional resource.

The Solution

Apridata designed and implemented a self service portal for Aircraft Operators to submit their updated aircraft data every month. The application integrated directly with the core leasing application extracting data accurately for presentation to Operators. A multi-step submission process walks the Operator through the utilisation submission in an intuitive manner and validates data at the point of entry, prompting the user to immediately correct where they may have entered incorrect data. An aircraft utilisation summary is presented to the Operator before submission for final review. Upon submission the utilisation data is automatically loaded into the core leasing application without any manual intervention.
